In 2010 the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) created the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to address the increasing burden of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes in the United States. A key feature of the National DPP are CDC-recognized lifestyle change programs, which provide education focused on healthy eating and physical activity. Building on the years of success with Chronicle Diabetes, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) again partnered with Flipside Media to create a new online electronic charting system to allow DPP programs to collect, document, and report the wealth of information associated with providing these services. Designed around the CDC Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP) requirements, DPP Express allows users to administer multiple DPP programs, manage large patient loads, quickly document structured education sessions, and report outcomes that meet the evolving CDC specifications. Streamlined program-level reporting provides powerful tools for the management and improvement of DPP programs. Integrated billing allows for payment reports and claims generation of Medicare DPP (MDPP) and other Value-Based Payment Models. Claims submissions are handled through an integrated clearinghouse, including automatically building claims from documented sessions, claim tracking, and ERA reporting. A data importing feature makes it easy to migrate from other systems, or from previous CDC-submitted data.
